Tampa is well known for its beaches.  With an average of 361 days of sunshine a year, you can easily find some time to explore and enjoy one or more of the many beautiful Tampa Bay beaches.  Some of the beaches are known as the “best beach in town” or the “best beach in the U.S.”

1 Ben T. Davis Beach

This is the largest and most popular beach within city limits.  With its powdery white sand, calm water, picnic areas, and a great spot to watch the sunset, it is sure to please.

2 Fred Howard Park

This is a popular beach as well as a nature preserve. At this park and beach, you will find endangered Florida habitat and wildlife.  It also features an area for windsurfing.

3 Indian Rocks Beach

For a quiet and less crowded area, try Indian Rocks Beach.  You will not find commercial development, you will find lots of beautiful white sand, with skim boarding a popular pastime.

4 Sand Key Park

This park and beach offer so much – white sand, a boardwalk and nature trail. This is located on a barrier island between the Gulf and Florida mainland.

5 Honeymoon Island State Park

How about a natural paradise with 4 miles of white sand beach?  This park and beach also features Ospreys. Special note:  don’t forget your mosquito repellant if you want to walk the nature trail!

6 Treasure Island

The name of this island and beach is accurate, as it is a treasure. This is a very active island and beach, with boats, hotels, restaurants, bars (drinking allowed on the beach), kite flyers, and more.

7 Caladesi Island State Park

Stunning and secluded are words that describe this beautiful beach, which is perfect for shell hunters!  This is only reachable by boat, which helps to keep it pristine.

8 St. Pete Beach

This beach was named “One of America’s Top 10 Best Beach Towns”.  That alone will probably cause you to want to visit and enjoy!!  There is something for everyone here.

9 Fort DeSoto Beach

This is a very family-friendly beach with one, especially exciting amenity.  That is, you can camp on this beach.  This experience is not to be omitted.

10 Clearwater Beach

Clearwater Beach has a long list of “Best Beach” honors.  It is certainly very popular, with beauty and many amenities available.
